MINOTAUR INST. 2021/SS Virtual Showroom

MINOTAUR INST. 2021/SS Virtual Showroom

A space incorporating elements unique to the virtual world

As part of a collaborative project with THINK AND SENSE, MINOTAUR INST. will be hosting a virtual showroom for the 2021 SS Collection.

The concepts of the 21SS collection are "Mindfulness" and "Sustainability." Based on the graphic design concept of "Mindfulness," this virtual showroom creates an architectural space with a point cloud representation of a Zen temple garden as its backdrop. The floor of the building is filled with water, and while the speed of the flow and the reflection of light change, it indirectly conveys the circulation of air within the space, expressing "Sustainability."

Taking inspiration from Japanese houses, the space combines realistic spatiality with something that would be impossible in reality by incorporating elements unique to the virtual world, such as using transparent materials for the pillars and constructing the floor out of water.

The virtual showroom allows users to move their position using keyboard input and change their viewpoint using the mouse. In addition, looks can be viewed from four sides: not only the front, but also the left, right, and back. When approaching a look from the front, the item name and tags for the look's functions are displayed. Clicking on the name of the look will take you to the e-commerce site.
